New Year's Eve 2100.
The world's last Petrol station.
TANKEN is based on the premise that our society has lost the ability to
think utopian. We Western Europeans, inhabitants of the global North
and children of Hypercapitalism, live in the land of milk and honey, as
it was imagined in the Middle Ages, and have more than enough. We have achieved what was once considered an unrealistic dream.
This perspective exposes the defenders of the status quo who
dismiss new and bold ideas as unrealistic or naïve. In the last 500 to
1000 years, we have achieved the utopian worldview of our ancestors.
Could we not repeat this in the next 500 to 1000 years with our current
utopian dreams?
